The Provider Network has been set up to explore and develop Citizen-Directed Support with Welsh provider organisations.
The aim of the Provider Network is to support providers interested in and committed to supporting people who are eligible for social care support to have greater control over their lives by maximising control that people have over the funding and support provided by the state and available to them in their community.
Seventeen providers are currently members of the network.
The Network was launched on Friday, 5 December 2008 and a programme of events was planned for the first year of the network.
Some organisations in the network are already working in partnership with local authorities to promote the development of individualised budgets. Summaries of their proposals can be seen by clicking on the links below.
The first learning event was held on Friday, 20 February2009 when members were informed about system technicalities in five workshops on: the Resource Allocation System; light touch monitoring; individual service fund; individual service design; and risk and regulation. The presentations from the learning event can be accessed on the Provider Network Resources page.
The second learning event was held on Tuesday, 9th June in Llandrindod Wells when members learned from providers experiences of adapting to personalised budgets.
