What does Wirral Autistic Society do to support people in Wales?
“We are looking to develop supported living, domiciliary care and community and vocational services in North Wales. We have an office in Mold and are looking to acquire a block of flats in Bagillt.
We currently have 8 supported living projects in England supporting 20 adults with autistic spectrum conditions, some also with associated learning disabilites and mental health issues. We also support a number of service users through domiciliary care.
The organisation has an extensive community and vocational services department, residential care facilities and a bespoke respite unit.”
What does Wirral Autistic Society want from the Alliance for it to be successful for them?
We would like the opportunity to network with other organisations in Wales and ensure that we are up to date with policies and procedures. We would like to establish services in the North Wales and establish links with relevant personnel.
What can Wirral Autistic Society offer in terms of time, enthusiasm, expertise, and resources to supporting the development of Citizen Directed Support across Wales?
The agency had a designated registered manager to develop services in North Wales and is committed to offering a specialist service with well trained staff in the field of autistic spectrum conditions. The agency is committed to ensuring that the principles of Citizen Directed Support are adhered to.
